Hello all,
As I am working through the night tonight, I decided to post an update. The sequel is a while away, to be honest. I have my day job (or my ‘day and night’ job) which takes up almost all my time. I work through the day and night 1-2 times a week. There is just so much work to do, and it can be very stressful. But I get paid well, and I even have a mortgage and a house, so I consider myself very lucky. Many European people my age are struggling to get a place to live and to call their own, so I feel grateful to have a job that allows me to have my own place. I even have a garden and everything!
I recently finished renovating my house, so all I need to do now is finish decorating. Maybe I’ll have a bit more time in the coming weeks to write when I have a bit more free time in general. During the coronavirus lockdown was when I wrote most of The Blazing Sun. It’s hard to put time away to write a few pages when you can’t even find time to sleep some nights.
I may have mentioned already I work in aviation, I forget. Anyways, my current career goal is to get a qualification that would allow me to work/specialise in space (think satellites, etc). It is not impossible with my career to do such a transition, and so I’m feeling out whether it would be a good long term goal for me. I obviously have a huge interest in anything space related – and I’ve always thought I need to find what I do interesting. Otherwise the long, long hours would just overwhelm me.
I also just wanted to say that I have been avidly following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. When I’m working, I can only really read the news on my phone for a bit of relief, so I check developments on the front multiple times a day. What is happening to Ukraine is simply terrible and I fully support the Ukrainian cause. I hope Ukraine is victorious, and soon.
Anyways it’s back to work for me.
Thank you for reading and I wish you all the best,
PMA
